2024 Anti-Doping Statistics

19 March 2025, Lausanne – The Aquatics Integrity Unit has published the 2024 Anti-Doping Testing Statistics, highlighting a significant number of samples collected and the continued expansion of anti-doping efforts. 

In collaboration with the International Testing Agency (ITA), which manages anti-doping programmes on behalf of World Aquatics, a total of 5,568 samples were collected from 1,572 athletes representing 109 nationalities in 2024. This marks an increase from 5,437 samples collected from 1,527 athletes representing 88 nationalities in 2023. 

Additionally, the athlete-by-athlete testing data for 2024 has also been published, providing detailed insights into individual testing statistics. 

The tests, conducted by World Aquatics and other anti-doping organisations, reflect a coordinated global effort to promote clean sport. This increase underscores World Aquatics’ ongoing commitment to safeguarding the integrity of aquatic sports through robust and comprehensive testing worldwide, while also reinforcing its dedication to transparency in anti-doping efforts.
