Multiple Suspensions Handed at the World Aquatics Men’s Water Polo World Cups 2026

Lausanne, 13 April 2026 – The Aquatics Integrity Unit (AQIU) has issued the following suspensions at the World Aquatics Men’s Water Polo World Cups 2026:

Alexandroupoli, Greece – Division 1

· Dutch assistant coach Sebastiaan Brands: one-game suspension for protesting a referee’s decision (Group D Match: Serbia vs Netherlands).

· Italian player Stefano Guerrato: one-game suspension for misconduct (aggressive play) (Group C Match: Italy vs Spain).

Malta – Division 2

· Singaporean player Sanjiv Rajandra: one-game suspension for violent action (Classification Match: Singapore vs Poland).

· Brazilian player Rafael Vergara: two-game suspension for violent action (Classification Match: Brazil vs Malta).

· German player Denis Strelezkij: three-game suspension for violent action (Semifinals Match: Germany vs Georgia).

· Georgian player Valiko Dadvani: one-game suspension for misconduct (Semifinals Match: Germany vs Georgia).
