12 October 2026, Lausanne – The Aquatics Integrity Unit (AQIU) has provisionally suspended Dr Khalid Abdulwahid Kbian, President of Iraq Aquatics, pursuant to Article 21 of the World Aquatics Integrity Code.  

During his provisional suspension, Dr Kbian is prohibited from holding any position within Iraq Aquatics, Asia Aquatics, World Aquatics, or any other recognised body. He is also prohibited from participating in or attending any aquatic-related activities, events, meetings, or competitions in any capacity. 

As the proceedings are ongoing, the AQIU will make no further comment at this time.
