CAS Confirms Two-Year Ban Imposed on Former Mexican Swimming Federation President Kiril Todorov

Lausanne, 15 July 2026 – The Aquatics Integrity Unit (AQIU) welcomes the ruling of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in the case of former President of the Mexican Swimming Federation (FMN – Federación Mexicana de Natación), Kiril Minchev Todorov.

CAS dismissed the appeal lodged by Mr Todorov, thereby confirming the AQIU Adjudicatory Body’s finding that he breached Article 33.8 of the World Aquatics Integrity Code by violating the terms of his provisional suspension and upholding the sanction of two (2) years of ineligibility to be served until 28 October 2026.

During the suspension, Mr Todorov is not allowed to hold any position within World Aquatics, any World Aquatics Continental Organisation, or any World Aquatics Member Federation, including affiliated clubs or recognised bodies. The suspension shall also prevent him from taking part in, or attending in any capacity, any aquatic-related activities or events organised by World Aquatics, any World Aquatics Continental Organisation, any World Aquatics Member Federation, any club, or any other recognised body.
