Lausanne, 3 December 2025 – The Aquatics Integrity Unit (AQIU) takes note of the decision by the International Testing Agency (ITA) to impose a fourteen-month period of ineligibility on USA diver Scott Lazeroff for an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV).
This sanction was issued under Article 2.1 and/or Article 2.2 of the World Aquatics Anti-Doping Rules, following the detection of the prohibited substance Methylphenidate in Mr Lazeroff’s sample.
The American diver’s period of ineligibility extends from 24 November 2025 to 24 January 2027. Additionally, all competitive results obtained by the athlete from 27 July 2025 have been disqualified, including the forfeiture of medals, points, and prizes.
Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs) occur when athletes breach anti-doping rules, which can result in bans, disqualifications, and/or reputational damage. The AQIU encourages all athletes to be informed about the Anti-Doping Rules. To compete fairly, athletes are encouraged to complete the WADA e-Learning Course “ADEL International Level Athletes Education Program” to better understand the rules.
The ITA’s news release on the matter is available here.
