12 March 2025, Lausanne – The Adjudicatory Body of the Aquatics Integrity Unit has issued a ten-year suspension and a fine of USD 50,000 to Mr. Farid Abi Raad, Secretary General of the Lebanese Swimming Federation for multiple violations of World Aquatics integrity regulations. In particular, Mr. Abi Raad has been found to have submitted false information and falsified documents to World Aquatics to benefit from financial support. During his suspension, Mr. Abi Raad is prohibited from holding any position within World Aquatics, its Continental Organisations, Member Federations (including the Lebanese Swimming Federation), or any recognised body. He is also barred from participating in, attending, or representing these entities in any capacity at any aquatic-related activities, events, or competitions.
